The game against Virginia Tech was surprisingly good--until the last quarter when we lost. Having a night game was good, because it meant it was cooler and not bright. We were being shown on ESPN so they had an overhead camera over the field, suspended from four wires attached to the lights. It was cool to see it robot around the field. Even the other camera guys seemed fascinated by it, based on how much time they spent focusing their cameras on the overhead camera.
This weekend was much less exciting. I did homework the entire time except going to Target with Karen and Becky on Saturday. I was finally able to get things like a phone card, printer cartridge, printer paper, index cards, and batteries that I've needed for quite a while (the batteries I need for my Caller ID so I can avoid Annie).
Tonight my spirit band was assigned to play at the volleyball game. The band directors, in their ultimate wisdom/sadism, split up all the trombone girls so it was just me and five trombone guys tonight. Toward the beginning of the game Boezi said two of the girls on the other team had really great butts. I leaned slightly around the trumpet in front of me to see who he was talking about, out of curiousity. Boezi thought it was really strange and said, "You don't have to look!" which after a pause he amended, "But you're from California."
For the rest of the game the guys were being at their obnoxious best. They found the sheet with the opposing team's names and called them out. Their favorite (the hottest) was named Jana, and they would cheer every time she came on the court and boo every time she left. And what's really sad is though they were obnoxious and rude and aggravating, they weren't as gross as I have heard them before.
Looking ahead I have football games every Saturday this entire month. Two are away games--NC State this weekend and Georgia the 27th. That's going to eat up so much time.
Realized one giant benefit to band, today, though. The band director was telling us that all the men's basketball games this entire season are sold out. Sold out. (Because we went to the championship game last year). So by being in pep band next semester, not only do I get to go to at least half of the men's home games for free, I get paid for it. Talk about a sweet deal!
