Winter suddenly reappeared today when it was 36 outside when I woke up. I wrapped up in the matching rainbow scarf, mittens, and giant hat I have and trudged to class. And somehow, along the way, it went from very nippy, to average, to the point where I didn't need any of the knitted things at all.

Still, I'd rather be prepared.

Catherine and I went rock-climbing on Wednesday after a long, school-work-induced hiatus. We could both get up the white route no problem. That one has big, easy-to-grab holds at small intervals. But then Catherine went on the blue route, which has mediumly good holds, and there must have been a hold missing that used to be there because as she was trying to get above the small ledge that's artificially created on the wall she fell unexpectedly, launching me in the air (because I was connected to the other end of the rope). It's interesting, being launched. I tried next and whatever hold was missing was apparently very useful because I just couldn't get over the ledge either. I probably could have, but I value my fingers and don't want to hurt them. So after a little bouldering we decided we'd done enough to start getting back in the rock-climbing groove.

This weekend the football game is away at UVA, and I'm not assigned, so I have a strangely free weekend. Most of my roommates are gone for one reason or another, so the time is stretching ahead of me. Actually having a weekend to get caught up on homework is such a luxury.

I had the MRI of my neck yesterday in the latest attempt to find out what's causing the tingling in the fingertips of my left hand. It was much quicker than I thought it would be, only about 10 minutes. And I can understand why there're all those warning about claustraphobics because the tunnel they put you in was much smaller than I thought it was. How do they get really fat people in there? Afterwards they gave me a CD that I'm responsible for getting to the neurologist. So of course, the first thing I did was copy the files to my computer and look at them. There're views of me in slices from one shoulder to the other, from front to back, and from top to bottom from about my eye level to the top of the shoulders. I can't seen anything wrong but hopefully the doctor can and will tell me what this is because it's been eight months already.
