Shopping and the Circus

For several weeks now they have been airing commercials about the "Dippin-omically designed Dippin' Strips Pizza from Pizza Hut!" The commercials were truly a wonder in food photography--the pizza looked absolutely delicious.

So, of course, we had to get one.

So Friday night Catherine, Graham, Karen (who'd just come in), and I ordered one, along with another pizza. And let me say, wow it doesn't live up to the hype. It was an average pizza cut in strips with three un-exciting sauces. The marinara was all right, the blue cheese I wouldn't even touch and made Catherine gag, and the garlic wasn't as good as Papa John's. All in all, not recommeneded.

Saturday morning Catherine, Karen, Laura, and I set out for a day of shopping. We went to Old Navy, where I got a white shirt to wear with my black tank shirt (one my sister declared quite slutty but that I like, especially with this white shirt), then to Barnes and Noble where I restrained myself and got nothing, then on to Chipotle where we got free burritos and drinks because we're Georgia Tech students and it was a basketball game day. I got the carnitas, and the meat was very good, but there was a pervading spice flavor throughout the burrito I didn't like very much - I think it was the green bits in the rice. But hey, it was free!

From there we went on to Target, where I got things I've been needing forever, like Q-tips and shower gel and pencils, and new underwear. While I was there, I found the Wonderfalls DVD! I loved that show and was so mad FOX killed it. I'm going to watch an episode tonight.

After that we went to the mall and tried to find me tennis shoes and failed, though we did get the Chantico drink from Starbucks, which has been heavily advertised here as the chocolatiest thing ever (so much so that Kim calls it "chocolate wet dream"). While I would say it is not the chocolatiest thing ever, it is a very good cup of chocolate.

From there we took Laura home and got to see her house, which is on a big lot and very pretty. Homey, too. Then we went to another shoe store where I finally got tennis shoes. After all that we came back and the guy Karen's kind of dating, Ben, came over and hung out. He's hilarious.

Today, because Catherine's birthday is this week, she wanted to go to the circus. So after church we went over there. It was my first time at a circus and I'll say that I can see why it's geared for children. The trapeze artists and other acts that required skill were neat, but I felt bad for the animals and everything was set to a pre-recorded tape so that it felt really...fake. But Catherine had fun.
