Survived one final, barely. It was Thermo, and it was jacked. Seriously. There are some tests where you know it all, some where you know what you're supposed to do but mess up in the process, and then there is this test: where I didn't even know what I was supposed to do, at all.
There was one question which was "find the equilibrium constant from these half-cell voltages" and I'm like: WTF? Not only was half-cells only discussed during the last class period before the test with no homework on it, we didn't do how to find equilibrium constants. So - um, how do you do that?
The amazing thing was that it turns out the answer I pulled out of air was right. I thought there was an equation that related E to something the sum of RT/nF, which mean that E multiplied by nF would be the same units as RT, which would be the same units as delta G, which I could related to K. But I didn't know what n was, so I said it was one. And G was probably negative for that reaction but E was positive, so I put in a negative sign. G=-nFE. And turns out that's right. Pulled out of the air. No idea.
Slept in later than I meant to today and then did laundry and studied, plus checked my mail at the student center (nothing). Even managed to pack some. Packing would have just been clothes and underwear if it weren't for the bowl game. Now I'm thinking - what do I need for Florida? besides things like music and band clothes, of which there are more than you'd expect, since my uniform is being taken care of. There's the pep band shirt, the white shirt we wear under our uniforms, my sash, my hat, shoes, white socks, etc. The hat has a big box so I asked Kim if she could bring it for me, since she's coming to the apartment before loading the buses, whereas I fly right into Orlando. Tonight Graham had the same bright idea, though he wants to give Kim his entire garment bag with everything.
We went caroling the other day. We'd make Christmas goodies and made up some plates and brought them to people we knew in the building and my roommates decided we'd sing. Doing the guys' room (Chad, Ryan, Strohsy) wasn't that embarrassing, Graham was just kind of funny, but then Catherine wanted to do to guys who live next to us, and that was a bit embarrassing. They were completely surprised, and a little weirded out. Hopefully it was a pleasant surprise.
