Poor Anal

And thus I have a job.

After a week of nothing from the other temp agency I said I was thinking of signing up with a different agency. To my surprise, they said "Oh, good idea!" So Tuesday I went and signed up with the agency I used two summers ago. I went in, signed up, and the lady remembered me. She checked my ID again, and then said, "You know, we need someone here on a project," so I got a job that day!

My job consists of taking files out of one drawer, looking up each person on the computer to see if they've worked in the last three years, and depending on the outcome of that either putting the files in a different drawer or in boxes to be shredded.

Nothing a trained monkey couldn't do, but I'm making $12 an hour 9-4, so I'm quite happy. The only thing I'm wondering about is that I finished the last of the files today (except a few I just need to sort into piles), and that was the project the lady had said she needed done, but she had said it might end to the end of July. Either she has other projects in mind or I'm just the fastest worker they've ever seen.

I came across someone in the files named Anal. That can't be fun. He goes by "Al" and I think I would too.

If Monday I was 14.5% done with the main quilt area (to my mother's amusement, while I think having 20/138 designs done and representing that as its decimal, 14.5%, isn't that odd), by the end of Wednesday I was 26.0% done, which is highly encouraging. When I first did the math and said if I got 14.5% done in a week I'd need almost 7 weeks to complete it, and then I would need to do the borders and the binding too! (I only have until August 6th). But now it's quite more satisfactory. If I can do 11.5% in two days, well then, I don't have to worry!

I think my mom will be more torn about me giving away the quilt than I will be. She said maybe I should just give Laura and John towels.
