Moving Out

Last final this afternoon. Transport, with the professor who is known for his insanely hard finals. I stopped studying last night because I didn't know what I could over anymore, plus I didn't want to study any more.

Packing is slightly depressing as always. Kim is already moved out and gone. The decorations in the living room are coming down and everything looks empty.

Not my room. Studying has cut into packing time, so the packing I've done has been from the wardrobe and bureau and under the bed, so there are still plenty of items on surfaces to make it look slightly normal.

Last night Becky and Catherine wanted to go out, so we first went to the Treehouse, a place Catherine knew, for dinner, then to the Westin, which is a fancy hotel downtown that has a rotating restaurant at the top. We got a brownie sundae and Becky ordered a peachy frozen drink and said virgin, but when it came it was definitely alcoholic, so only Catherine and Becky drank it because they're 21, and I said I would drive home. Then the waitress came with another drink, said the bartender had "made an extra" and that one was virgin. So we got a free drink!

The view was pretty cool. We picked out the area that was campus and could see Tech tower. It's funny how isolated campus seems when you're here but the view really pointed out how it's smack dab in the middle of this huge city.

In one favorable development, Graham is staying here for the summer (working in the aerospace lab) so not only is he the repository of choice for our leftover food (which normally goes in the trash, or is uncomfortably stored for the summer) but he's taking Becky's bookcase and the living room TV, which makes moving so much easier.

What also has made moving so much easier is a hand truck. Holy crap. Becky and I took some of my boxes to my storage unit yesterday, and boy, when you don't have to actually carry heavy boxes for long distances, it's not bad! The load of my books was fun, it took both feet and my entire weight on the hand truck to tip it so I could push it.

In any case, by this time tomorrow I'll be moved out and ready to go home.
