Food Poisoning Fun

Sometimes it all happens at once.

I knew that this week was going to start off hard because I had a Separations test for tonight and a Bioprocess one tomorrow. The Separations test was going to be bad. That teacher is...how best to describe it? He (mostly) knows what he's talking about, I guess, maybe. But he can't convey it. He scheduled mandatory review sessions for Thursday and Friday. I got out of the Friday one because he scheduled it during band (needing an excused absence from an outside of class review session?!), but at the Thursday one he refused to talk about the test. He yelled at anyone who asked any questions about the test. I thought it was a review session for the test. Apparently not. Then, on Friday, he slept through class, missing all of it, and I found out today that he did his lecture during that wonderful mandatory review session on Friday.

Friday night was game night in our apartment and it was a lot of fun. Our roommates from lsat year, Laura and Karen, came, along with Laura's husband John, Graham and his girlfriend Jen, and after a bit the other trombones Brendan and Chris/Texas came. We played Balderdash, Taboo, and Battle of the Sexes. It was a lot of fun. I had made rolls, Coconut Crunch Delight, meatballs, toffee candy, and some no-bake cookies for Brendan who's allergic to wheat, and Laura brought pumpkin pie, and we had chips and Kool-aid and Catherine had made jam thumbprint cookies.

I mention all the food because around 5:30 the next morning I got food poisoning.

Apparently I've never had food poisoning before.

Let me say, I don't like it.

Fast forward through my horrific morning and get to game time. Because we did have a football game.

I had thought early on that like any of my bouts of gastronomic distress it would be over after few visits to the bathroom and while not at my best, I could make it through the football game past the halftime show and then ask the directors to let me out after that. Come 2 pm and that wasn't happening. So I walked (slowly) to the campanile with Becky and went up to the directors. One look at me and all I had to say was "I'm sick. I can't march." and I was off the hook.

That was my fun weekend.

For the remainder of this week I have one more test, some homework like always, and also scrambling to pre-arrange a lab group for my Unit Ops lab next semester in order to avoid my stalker.

Sometimes my life can only be described as sad.
