The Cold Has Come

Someone told me once that in Georgia, fall isn't the gradual progression from summer to winter that it is elsewhere in the country. Rather, it's days that are like summer alternated with days that are like winter. And I have to say it's true. Though this year the weather forgot the alternating thing and this weekend just went KABOOM-Winter!

It's been in the 30s to 60s this whole week and windy, too. I'm better off than some people because I keep all my winter clothes in Georgia, rather than leaving them at home and bringing them back at Thanksgiving like the people from around here do. I don't have that option, so I already have my coats and hats and mittens--which I've been taking full advantage of. And we finally realized we could turn the thermostat up, so I no longer need three layers of clothing to stay warm in my room (I don't know why we forget that's an option--it might be a holdover from living in the traditional dorms, where it didn't matter what setting you put on the heater or air conditioner, you were going to freeze or burn).

Band on Monday was absolutely freezing. It hadn't been that cold when practice started so I didn't wear my hat or gloves, but shortly in I wish I had. It was funny to see big, tough guys with their hoods pulled up and hands covered in sweatshirt sleeves.

Well, off to class. I have a Control quiz today, a Separations test Monday, and a Bioprocess test Tuesday. And it would be better if I knew what we were doing in Separations at all.
